Hello, my dearest Adventurers!
Last week, we sorted and evicted the negative thoughts to make room for the new energy we want to embody. This week, we are diving deep into Alchemy. We aren’t just taking dirt and turning it into gold; we are taking our negative experiences and transmuting that energy into fuel for our future. While this might seem like a difficult or even impossible task, let me tell you: you are likely already doing this on the daily.
Have you ever gotten angry about something and, instead of blowing up, decided to clean the house, go for a walk, or throw yourself into a project? If so, you’ve transmuted your energy. Alchemy is simply taking energy and using it in a different way
than your initial reaction dictated. This ties directly back to "The Pause" I talk about during my posts on triggers. There is a sacred space between the stimulus, the initial reaction, and the secondary reaction. You cannot always control the initial reaction—that is raw, true emotion. But the secondary reaction is where your power lies. That is where you choose what to do with the information the stimulus provided.
If you have been struggling to understand how to redirect your emotions into productive outcomes, this post is for you. We are going to break down the nervous system response, learn how to sit with our emotions without being consumed by them, and discover how to redirect that force into progressive tasks—all while remaining present in our bodies.
This work isn’t easy. It will take time—way more time than it takes to read these words. But if you are committed to self-development, bettering your life, and putting in the work that expands your soul, then you are in the right place.

The Anatomy of a Trigger
Triggers are not just things that "send people into a tizzy" or make them flip out; they are the unrefined and unfiltered emotions from experiences that have never fully left us. Each time we are triggered, we are given a divine opportunity to see what that emotion is trying to tell us about ourselves. Since every emotion is Energy-in-Motion, think of a trigger as the spark that causes that energy to well up inside you once more.
When we receive information through our sensory organs, it takes a moment for that data to reach the brain and be interpreted. This delay creates your Primary Response. You have no control over this initial feeling, and the best thing you can do is learn to let it be. However, the Secondary Response is where your agency lives. This is where you choose to either take a different course of action or dwell in the primary emotion. There is a sacred space between these two responses, and that space is where we must focus our energy.
The Spectrum of Stress
As humans, we are creatures driven by stress on a daily basis just to stay alive. But not all stress is created equal. Understanding the levels of stress helps us categorize our internal environment:
I don’t say this to chastise stress; we need a certain amount of stimulation, and a good challenge is healthy for us. I point this out because when we live in Chronic or Episodic Acute stress, we expose ourselves to a host of negative effects: high blood pressure, muscle tension, a weakened immune system, depression, and anxiety. It’s vital to recognize that stress affects everybody differently. Your tolerance and your physical response will be unique to you.
Walking into the Fire
When the stress response rises, your instinct might be to run. Don't. As we’ve discussed, you must sit with these emotions and learn from them as they surface. Avoiding them only compounds the problem. Your body is a vessel; it can either hold onto that emotion for you to return to and experience fully, or it can store it away only for a trigger to pull it out of you involuntarily later.
Learning to sit with yourself and your emotions is the first step toward a higher quality of life. Each time you run into the "fire" of your mind to find and save the version of you that isn't having a good time, you build deeper trust and self-compassion. You are meant to experience your whole life, not just the highlights. We are creatures of duality, existing in both the "good" and the "bad." To fully live, you must be open to exploring every aspect of yourself—including the heavy emotions that feel as if they might crush you.
III. The Process of Transmutation
+Step 1: Presence — The Lab of the Body
The first step is Presence; you simply cannot change what you won't sit with. If you refuse to sit with the energy, you won’t even know where you stand, let alone where to start. Even when it hurts, sitting with the physical sensations in your body is a profound way to get intimate with yourself. It allows you to learn exactly how you respond to specific stimuli, emotions, and levels of stress.
This process can be intense, and you won’t be "perfect" at it every time, but when you invest energy into learning and adapting for the life you so deeply desire, that energy is returned to you. It is vital to remain open, compassionate, and dedicated to yourself first and foremost. Take breaks when you need to, and remember: the act of living your life is a core part of the soul's workout regimen.
+Step 2: The Interrogation — Finding the Source
The second step is to question these feelings. Just like last week, we must ask: "Why am I feeling this?" to find the source of the energy. Sometimes it takes time to uncover the root, especially when an emotion seems irrational at first. You have to let time tell the story.
The purpose of this questioning process is to move aside the "Old Stories" so you can find the truth—the core center where the emotion stems from. Each time you receive an answer, question it again: “Why am I feeling this?” This persistent inquiry aids in uncovering the ultimate reason. The more you follow through with this and show yourself compassion, the more you prove to your soul that you are trustworthy.
+Step 3: Redirection — Flipping the Script
Finally, we change the narrative of the story we tell about the emotion. I’ll give you a personal example: I have some PTSD related to self-expression that can cause me to panic. In anticipation of a confrontation or an important talk, I can experience anything from a full panic attack to a total freeze.
Recently, I was in a situation where I simply needed to speak my truth and elaborate on things I had already said. I will admit, I was extremely shaken up and in a panic at first. But after sitting with it for about a day, I was able to talk to the person easily without panicking. How? Halfway through that day, I decided that the anxiety I was experiencing should help me plan rather than paralyze me.
I walked through the worst-case scenarios, found peace with them, and reached a level of detachment from the outcome. I realized the true anxiety was actually coming from the waiting. My initial story was a hope that I’d never have to confront it, but I knew I needed to in order to grow. Once I shifted my focus to the purpose behind my actions, the anxiety became excitement. All I did was sit with it, question it, and change the story.
The Frequency of Feeling: Emotional Utility
In the grand scheme of things, emotions are frequencies that pass through our bodies, and each one has a message to share. Most people favor "positive" emotions over "negative" ones because the latter are uncomfortable to sit in. We inherently want things to feel good—there is nothing wrong with that—but it’s a matter of changing your perspective.
Just as every experience holds many different lessons, every emotion holds a different power. Anger can fuel physical tasks and build boundaries; grief can be used to peer deep into your heart; anxiety can help you plan, and jealousy can reveal your true desires. Every emotion has a message for you; it is up to you to ask What and Why.
Anger: The High-Octane Fuel
When we experience anger, it can often feel overwhelming and untamable. This emotion is loud and sits right in the middle of the emotional frequency scale—meaning it has the power to either take you up or tear you down.
When you sit with yourself in anger, you have to find the trigger. Is it a crossed boundary? Have you witnessed an injustice? Once you figure out the "Why," you can redirect that energy into actions that remedy the situation and help you grow. This could look like asking for help, enforcing a hard "No," or volunteering for a cause you are passionate about. The goal is to redirect the heat of the anger into productive actions, using that extra passion to execute the task while allowing the emotion to pass.
Grief: The Heart’s Deep Dive
Grief can feel debilitating to the nervous system, often causing us to fall into negative spirals. But what if we used that depth to peer into the heart? Every time we look at what we’ve lost, we should also take note of the good that came from that loss, as well as the goodness still surrounding us.
Not all grieving needs to feel like your life is crashing down. Everything is impermanent; life marches on in spite of loss. We are blessed in so many ways, and each time we reach into our "gratitude bag" to experience that thankfulness despite the grief, we aid our nervous system in returning to a state of regulation.
Gratitude sits very high on the emotional frequency chart, and it is important to dip into it as often as we can. This isn’t "toxic positivity"—it’s a perspective shift. We gain and lose all the time, and some losses are crushing. It’s okay to feel awful, to be upset, and to move through the stages of grief in your own way. Take all the time you need, but remember: you have to get back up.
Maintenance: Stabilizing the Gold
When you feel heavy and the pressure starts to mount, the most sovereign thing you can do is breathe and take a break to check in. Self-intimacy is always the way. It is the only way to show up for yourself with the depth and devotion you deserve.
However, an Alchemist doesn’t just work on "vibes"—they work with precision. While you must remain compassionate, you must also provide structure and stability to your practice. High-frequency living requires a strong foundation. This means checking in with yourself regularly to see how you can best support the energy you’re trying to build.
Ask yourself the hard questions; you might be surprised by what the silence tells you:
By asking these questions, you provide the structure that allows your soul to feel safe enough to transform. You are providing the "container" for the gold to form.
The Final Section: Conclusion — The Lead is Now Light
In the end, the goal of Mental Alchemistry isn't to live a life without "Lead." It is to become so proficient in your power that you no longer fear the heavy moments, because you know exactly how to turn them into Light.
You are the Scientist in the lab of your own life. You are the one who decides that a panic attack is actually a planning session, and that anger is actually the fuel for your next big win. Don’t rush the process—the finest gold takes time to refine. Keep your "Why" at the center, keep your "No" firm, and keep showing up for the "Soul Workout."
You have the tools, the authority, and the fire. Now, go out there and turn your heavy days into your greatest assets.
Weekly Prompt: Take one "Heavy" emotion you are feeling this week. What is the "Gold" hidden inside it? How can you flip the script to make this energy work for you?
Navigating the unknown is the ultimate act of trust, but navigating it with a calibrated inner compass is an act of Power. Recent portals have stripped away my old scripts, leaving me standing firmly at the helm of my own ship. My growth—this profound, "thunder-filled" journey of reclamation—is the heartbeat of A Mindful Adventure. As I continue to speak my truth, and the truth of the Earth as fact, I am inviting you to move beyond the "scraps" and join me in the deep work of sovereignty. This journey is my life's work, and it is a path I am honored to share with those ready to lock eyes with their own destiny.
