Hello, my dearest Adventurers!
It’s Week 3 of Mind-Body Month. So far, we’ve explored how our bodies keep the score and how we can help our physical vessels move through difficult moments with grace. This week, we are turning our attention to the fuel: the things we put into our bodies—whether that’s food, music, conversations, interactions, or even experiences. It is vital that we remain mindful of every form of input we allow past our gates.
The old phrase "you are what you eat" should really be: "You are what you consume." We are both energetic and physical beings, capable of consuming energy and physical substances alike. When we take these things in, they are absorbed and incorporated into our very essence. Energetic inputs are
stored within our soft tissues, while physical inputs are woven into our biology. That burger you had last week? It’s still being used as energy by your cells. That person who cut you off in traffic? They are stored within you as memories and physical sensations.
Our bodies are temples, and what we allow inside becomes a part of us, whether we realize it or not. To be a sovereign being is to be a good steward of your vessel; we alone are responsible for our boundaries and what we allow in. We must never take this stewardship for granted—it is a blessing and a sacred duty.
So, grab a beverage—I’m drinking kombucha today—grab a seat, and get your note-taking tools ready. We are diving deep into the effects of intake and how to nourish your temple.
Intake as Self-Intimacy: Savoring vs. Clawing
When we feed ourselves, we are engaging in the most frequent form of self-care available to us. This isn't just about the food and drink we take in; it’s about the videos we watch, the posts we read, the conversations we join, and the experiences we navigate. Each one is a vital stimulus that shapes our reality.
As the saying goes, "How you do one thing is how you do everything." It might sound far-fetched, but think deeply about how you consume. Do you mindlessly hunt for your next hit of dopamine and satisfaction, or do you take the time to savor each moment and give it the space it deserves?
When we rush, push, and claw toward our next hit of dopamine—whether it’s a "like" on a screen or a quick bite on the go—we are operating from a place of addiction rather than intention. But when we slow down to savor and enjoy every moment (not just the "high" ones), we open ourselves to whatever is truly meant for us. These two different ways of living dictate our entire quality of life.
Ruffling the Feathers of "Hard Work"
The more we push and "grind," the more our quality of life actually suffers. If you’re anything like I used to be, you might be thinking, "What are you talking about? Hard work equals a better life." I’m here to ruffle your feathers and tell you that simply isn't true. You can claw your way to a high point, but at what cost? Your sleep? Your peace of mind? Your partnership? You can have the thriving family, the empire, and the peace—but not through the "claw."
When we rush through our food or choose quick, convenient means of "filling the belly," we skimp on actual nourishment. A full stomach is not nearly as important as the vitamins and nutrients your cells require to thrive. Similarly, when we seek quick hits of dopamine through "doom-scrolling" short-form videos, we are hurting our bodies in the long term.
The Cost of Infatuation
Why does this lead to deterioration? Because when we are infatuated with a temporary feeling or a quick fix, we abandon ourselves in the process. That self-abandonment leads to catastrophic decay: weak short-term memory, poor mobility, chronic illness, and digestive issues.
When we choose to be intimate with ourselves, we become open to the genuine sensations and cravings of our own bodies. Every time you choose rich, nourishing interactions, experiences, and foods, you are architecting a better quality of life. Choosing self-discipline now ensures an easier life as you age. As the quote goes: "Life can be easy now and hard later, or it can be hard now and easy later." This doesn't mean you have to give up everything to gain everything (though the Creator does love a good pivot!). It means choosing quality over quantity. If you can’t afford the best quality right now, don’t settle for less. Save up and splurge on yourself later, because fine craftsmanship—whether in a meal or a mindset—is always better than shoddy work.
The Biology of the Sacred: Frequency vs. Static
We are here to look beyond the subjective labels of "good" and "bad" and look instead at Frequency vs. Static. There are plenty of "good" things that can quickly turn sour, and "bad" things that might actually serve us in the right context.
Frequency is the ability to tap into higher energy, the Creator, expansion, and clear communication with our bodies. Static is the opposite: it is the noise that brings confusion, suffering, devious energy, and restriction.
To tune into your highest frequency, you must first audit what you are allowing into your field. Is your intake low-vibrational, low-nutrient, or low-quality? These things create "Static," causing you to disconnect from your purpose and your passions. Conversely, high-vibrational consumables support and regulate your nervous system by default. This includes the company you keep, the food you eat, how you eat it, and the experiences you choose to have. Remember, your nervous system is the master regulator of every vital function in your body; what you feed it determines how well it can guard your gates.
The Fulfillment of the Savor
If you rush through your meals, your social interactions, or even your most profound experiences, you will likely find yourself feeling empty afterward. Rushing is a symptom of "Static."
However, if you take your time—if you savor, explore, check in with yourself, and make space for your feelings—you will find yourself more fulfilled overall. Just as we discussed last month when we talked about Dating Your Soul, self-intimacy is never going to be irrelevant on this growth journey. Tuning your frequency is simply the act of being intimate enough with yourself to know what harmonizes with your soul and what creates noise.
Protecting the Gates: The Fluidity of Boundaries
When we audit what we bring into our temples, we gain a new level of vigilance. This mindfulness allows us to set boundaries—and more importantly, to adjust them as needed.
It is a common misconception that boundaries are rigid, unmovable concrete walls built to last for eternity. Those aren't boundaries; those are just walls. Real boundaries are flexible; they grow and breathe with us. They are the "Terms and Conditions" we present to the world to exist in harmony. They aren't meant to bully others or confine you in a box; they are there to protect you from unwanted sustenance—whether that’s junk food, toxic environments, or thoughts that deprecate your being.
The Mirror in the Mind
When you regularly consume "trash"—whether it’s trainwreck media, constant drama, or chaos—your life inevitably starts to reflect that frequency. We see this clearly in adolescents who pick up the energy of violent games or negative influences, but as adults, we are not immune. It may be more gradual for us, but you can bet your bottom dollar that you will mirror the detrimental behaviors you observe over time.
This happens because of the profound way the human brain is wired. In the field of neuroscience, we look at Mirror Neurons. These are specialized cells that fire in your brain exactly the same way whether you are performing an action or simply watching someone else do it.
If you watch someone smiling and waving, your brain interprets that neural signature as if you were the one waving. This is why your brain can’t tell the difference between you gossiping about "Tina from accounting" and you tearing yourself apart over a mistake. To your biology, the "static" is the same. This is why conscious speech is a pillar of sovereignty. Don’t speak without consciousness; the "mirror" is always watching, and it is always reflecting your intake back into your reality.
The Rhythm of the Vessel: Moving with the Planet
The planet has its own rhythm, pattern, and trajectory—and so do our bodies. We cannot expect the Earth to mimic the climate or gravity of Venus just to "understand" us; we are simply different. In the same way, we all move with the seasons, the Moon, and the Sun differently.
For example, I prefer to be awake from the early afternoon into the late night and early morning. My mother prefers the mid-morning into the late evening. You might not align with either and prefer the dawn. It is your rhythm and your body. I’ve reached a point where I give not a single fuck about the clock—I work solely with the planet. This is why, as Daylight Savings shifted, I moved my Saturday community Lives from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM CDT. I moved with the sun.
I am fortunate not to have a traditional job, and I don’t take that for granted. However, even with a 9-to-5, you can work with your circadian rhythm rather than against it. When I worked an 8-to-6, I would wake up two and a half hours early just to capture the quiet, peaceful energy I missed by going to bed early. I had to make that space for myself.
Consuming the Night
If you’re wondering what this has to do with intake, you must realize that to support your choices, you must support your body’s need for rest. We consume sleep, too. If you aren't sure if your needs are being met, stop and get intimate. Ground yourself in the moment and activate your five senses. The present moment holds invaluable information; taking the time to behold it is a gift that will guide you to a deeper understanding of your vessel.
Conclusion: The Choice of the Sovereign
You alone choose what comes in and out of your vessel—what you accept and what you turn away. That may seem daunting, but it is the most beautiful thing we can do for ourselves. Our free will is a sacred gift.
Will you cower in fear of your own sovereign, regal, and—dare I say—godly power? Or will you rise up and decide that today is the last day you allow "scraps" into your temple, your sacred space, your body?
Weekly Prompt: What is one thing you have been "consuming" (food, media, or energy) that feels like "scrap" energy? What is one "Sacred Intake" you can replace it with this week?
To navigate the unknown is the ultimate act of trust, but to navigate it with a calibrated inner compass is an act of power. Recent portals have stripped away the old scripts, leaving me standing at the helm of my own ship. My growth—this profound, "thunder-filled" journey of reclamation—is the heartbeat of A Mindful Adventure. As I continue to speak my truth and the truth of the earth as fact, I am inviting you to move beyond the "scraps" and join me in the deep work of sovereignty. This journey is my life's work, and it is a path I am honored to share with those ready to lock eyes with their own destiny.
The support of this collective is what keeps this space sacred, free, and accessible to all. I am no longer playing small when it comes to the value of this kingdom. If you find resonance in these words, please consider a monetary donation. Your contributions are the fuel that keeps this adventure alive, ensuring that the light remains bright for every "Pathfinder" who finds their way here.
