Hello, my dearest Adventurers!
This month has been all about navigating The Unknown, and the entire journey has been designed to set us up for this week’s grand finale: Manifestation!
We have covered the unknown within (Shadow Work), acting with intention despite doubt, and how to release our attachment to specific outcomes. All of these foundational steps work together beautifully to help us manifest with precision and effectiveness. While it might be a fuzzy, abstract subject to some, let me tell you: Manifestation is a science, and it is a powerful one that can transform your whole life before your eyes.
Redefining Manifestation
Manifesting isn’t just positive thinking, wishing, hoping, or something that can be forced. It is important to realize that many people manifest without even knowing they are doing it, and it can be obtained by anyone, anywhere, at any time. It’s simply a matter of mindset, focus, and a deep understanding of your desires.
When we manifest, we become co-creators with the Universe (God, Creator, Source, or however you associate with Divinity), having a conscious say in how our lives unfold and how we want to feel at the end of each day. This form of power is not magic; it is actually a science.
In this post, we will dissect and learn how to manifest our dream lives using actual techniques and exploring scientific sources to establish legitimacy. Because if you’re like me, the science is fascinating and helps to solidify abstract topics in your mind.
So get ready to co-create with the Creator! Grab something to write with, a favorite beverage, and maybe even a snack, as we begin this week's Adventure.
Part I: The Science of Focus (The Brain Hack)
Let’s dive into the mechanics of the brain and how this vital organ aids in manifestation. The brain is used for body function as well as stimuli interpretation. This stimuli can be audio, visual, physical, olfactory, or even metaphysical. Your brain puts it together into a form you can perceive and learn from.
One of the portions of the brain that aids in this stimuli interpretation is the Reticular Activating System (RAS). This portion of the brain is responsible for drawing your attention to things your subconscious deems to be valuable or unique. It can also be described as a search engine; it only looks for the information you are inquiring about. So if you believe that the world is a negative place, guess what? You will majorly see negativity in the world, and the reverse is true. This is the filter in your brain that screens trillions of bits of information and only lets through what it deems important.
This portion of the brain works in tandem with the Salience Network (SN). This network detects and responds to emotionally significant stimuli, and switches between internal and external focus. So it not only processes external stimuli, it also processes your internal stimuli. This portion of the brain also filters information for optimal performance, but it filters information based on its meaning or urgency. Simply put, the RAS primarily uses external physical stimuli, and the SN primarily uses internal and external emotional stimuli.
Why Clarity and Feeling are Essential
With this in mind, it’s clear that when you are trying to manifest, you need to be specific about what it is you are desiring [O’Malley]. Similar to the genie from Aladdin, you cannot be vague, because you might not get what you are truly looking for. It is important to create detailed and specific imagery for your manifestation to be birthed from.
This process allows you to visualize and get intimate with your desire. During visualizations, it is crucial that you use as many of your senses as possible to envision the desired outcome. This act primes your subconscious and, in turn, primes your RAS and SN to do the heavy lifting for you, searching for things that support your new beliefs, as well as opening your eyes to opportunities to pursue the goal.
Using the RAS and the SN as a hunter of sorts [De Witte] will allow you to bring bits and pieces of your desired reality into your inner world, providing you with the satisfaction of having that outcome before it manifests in your life. This aligns you with the energy and fully rewires the body, causing the subconscious to develop in such a way that your external world begins to reveal the path toward those desires.
Action and Belief Primes the Brain
During week two of this month, we focused on focusing on the certainty that all will be okay, even if we feel overcome with doubt. This encompassed moving toward your goals even if you're scared or unsure, and trusting that you can first focus on your reason why and second, have faith you will experience your desires.
This act of taking action toward your goals shows your brain that you deeply desire this manifestation and will do whatever it takes to obtain it. This belief primes these processing portions of the brain to assist you in any way possible toward your goals. Like an internal assistant, much like your intuition (tied into the Intrinsic Nervous System (INS) and Intrinsic Cardiac Nervous System (ICNS)). All of these functions are here to keep you safe and alive, even if it feels the opposite when you're trying to flood your body with the sensations you want from these outward manifestations. Focusing on the feeling and the sensations will help you create stronger neural pathways for the experience you want, keeping the RAS and SN engaged and working for your highest good.
Part II: The Four Pillars of Scientific Manifestation
We discussed each of these pillars in incredible detail this month, giving each one its time to shine. Here, I will summarize them in order of the weeks so that we may see the full, cohesive picture.
Pillar 1: Wholeness and Self-Acceptance (The Foundation)
The first pillar we covered was the internal world and our Shadow Self. This pillar is critical for our sense of self and our sense of wholeness in that self. We discussed taking the time to look at the parts of you that may seem unsavory, "wrong," or even abandoned. When we work with these parts to understand what it is we need, we begin the process of coming home to ourselves and becoming whole.
It’s important to realize that your desires are valid, but frankly, it’s more important that you learn to accept yourself in the midst of the journey, or even before the manifestation becomes real. When we accept ourselves, we become powerful entities that learn and grow with each "setback" or "failure." Instead of tearing ourselves down to nothing, we learn to build ourselves up. We become whole because we accept ourselves, choosing ourselves instead of running away and hoping things just disappear. This act builds a foundation that no one can touch or take away from you. It provides a solid foundation on which to build your life, brick by brick.
Pillar 2: Intentional Action (Laying the Bricks)
The second pillar is all about laying those bricks down, one by one. We often doubt the process when we perceive ourselves as far away from our desires. This doubt can be crippling—it feels like you’re getting kicked while you’re already down. This places you in a loop of distrust, despair, and dis-ease, which can paralyze you and destroy your aspirations if you let it.
The important thing about this loop is that it can be disrupted with little, itty, bitty baby steps toward your goal. Each of these micro-changes and "steps" leads to the major, macro-change that is the desired outcome. You need to be consistent with defying the doubt, as it stems from your ego attempting to keep you safe. Breaking the old habits that no longer serve you takes time, discipline, and effort. The effort you put in now will allow for ease when your new beliefs and habits become second nature. Then, the next thing you know, the bricks form the outer walls of your house, and your vision is on its way.
Pillar 3: Inherent Worth (The Inner Blueprint)
Our inherent worth didn’t exactly get its own week, but it became a recurring and essential aspect for each topic. Believing that you are worthy is more than just a tool for manifesting; it is a right you are born into this world with. We are inherently worthy of our desires, of living, of expanding, and of living our best lives.
If you believe deep down that you aren’t worthy, your RAS and SN will reflect that to you everywhere you look, as if you have blinders on. We need not ask for permission to live our lives because we are worthy by default. Humans are the only creatures on this planet that act like they have to do things in such a specific way that doesn’t allow for free will to shine through. You have the willpower, the ability, the means, and the grit to accomplish your dreams, but too often, we are afraid. Remember, you are worthy, and the only thing that’s going to shut that fear up is to move despite it. Maybe accomplishing some of these dreams will change your brain profoundly, confirming that you are indeed worthy.
Pillar 4: Non-Attachment (The Open Window)
The last pillar is the one we talked about last week, Non-Attachment or healthy detachment. We learned that it is vital to let go of the specifics of your desired outcome, as the Universe might have something better waiting that doesn’t quite look like what you are manifesting. As the saying goes, the Universe never truly tells you "No," only “Yes,” “Not yet,” or “I have something better.”
Releasing the outcome is beneficial and allows for immense growth to occur. Leave some room for everything to work out for your highest good, and learn to instead fixate on how you want to feel and who you want to be. I’ve found this allows for ease and fulfillment to flow into your life and aids you in finding ways to embody those sensations now, even without the physical manifestation. Again, this allows your RAS and SN to then do the heavy lifting and guide you toward your goals. The Universe is more than willing to meet you somewhere in the middle to drop that blessing in your lap for you to enjoy.
Part III: Practical Application: Manifestation in Motion
Alright, my dear Adventurer, it’s time for the action steps you can take today, if you so choose to embark.
Step 1: The Neuro-Programming (Clarity & Feeling)
It begins with a clear and specific goal or desire that you want to manifest into your life. This is where you bring your senses into it and imagine what you will feel and who you will be when you obtain that manifestation. This is where you get to get really intimate and close to this goal: write it down, make vision boards you can look at regularly, talk to trusted people about it, and daydream during your free time about it.
This is when you basically get to fangirl over your future and get excited with the certainty that you deserve this joy you feel. Doing this action—visualizing the details to the point you feel as if you are already living that reality—primes your RAS and SN to look for the things that will bring you closer to that goal. Allow yourself to focus on the why behind the manifestation and let that desire create a life of its own in your mind. This is why it’s so beautiful to exercise your imagination like a child again.
Step 2: Embody the Ripple Effect (Intentional Action)
Next, take the necessary steps to bring more of that feeling into your daily life and to embody the version of you that has already experienced your goal come to fruition. Allow your RAS and SN to do their job and show you the way. Each time you decide to imagine and delve into that landscape you created in step one, you create stronger neurological pathways that make it easier for your brain to get specific and find what it is you need to succeed.
This allows for a ripple effect to create life-changing waves in your life. This enables you to embody that version of yourself you will become now and experience the feelings you wish to feel now, so you get to a point where you can let it go.
Step 3: Surrender and Receive (Non-Attachment)
“Wait, this isn’t the first time you’ve said that. How does it work?”
I’m so grateful you asked, my dear. Letting it go and releasing all expectations of how, when this manifestation ought to show up in your life, and what it should look like allows the Divine to work Their magic. They are the only ones who know how, when, and what it is you can handle and deserve.
You might be conflicted about letting go, but this is a form of surrender to the unknown, as the Universe is able to birth anything from seemingly nothing. This opens you up to more and allows you to be met by your blessings in a way that is just for you and no one else. As humans, we can have the tendency to be overly humble when we ask for blessings. We ask for a trickle out of a garden when the Creator has a fire hose They want to blast into our lives. But They can’t until we let go of that hose. Your specific goals and dreams are great guidelines, but when they are rigid, they limit the power of the Universe. Don’t limit yourself or Divinity—learn to let it go and to be okay without it, because that is when your manifestation truly shows up in your reality. That’s when you receive.
Step 4: The Frequency of Gratitude
So, when you’re not sure or feeling a bit down, remember to be grateful for all of the things you’ve done towards becoming that version of you, for the work you've put in, and for who you are today.
Allowing gratitude into your life not only improves your mental and physical health, but it also opens you up to receiving in abundance (another birthright we inherently have). This is simply because the frequency of gratitude shows the Universe, your subconscious mind, and the world at large that you are in the moment and ready for what may or may not come next. Having gratitude even though you are not where, who, or when you want to be is a powerful thing. If you’re not grateful, how can you expect to receive, let alone be blessed, if you do not have an appreciation for your life as it is?
Conclusion: You Are The Co-Creator
This whole month has been about embracing The Unknown—embracing the unknown within ourselves, within our futures, and within our desires. We learned that as humans, we truly have no idea what will happen next, and we won't until the thing happens.
This information is here to guide you, to help you, and to encourage you to follow your dreams, embark on your life journey, and become who you were born to become. This is a practical guide to help you understand and perceive what manifestation is, and how you might already be using its principles in your life.
I have no doubt you are now fully equipped to follow your own path and develop processes that work for you. Are you ready to step into your highest timeline, embody your gratitude, claim your life, and take control of the only thing you truly have control over: yourself?
I know I am, and I’m excited to see where our manifestations lead us as we raise this collective together.
